Music and Lyrics

It was a stupid movie that featured Hugh Grant.

My mother once mailed Hugh Grant pictures of me, advising that I was perfect for him.
Now all the Hot shots of me in my 20's are gone.  But it's a funny story.  The fact that my mother believed what she saw on TV.

Below is "the song".  The best woman in the world, Charlotte Vale Allen sent me her recipe for Chicken Divan and I'm gonna cook it for my nephews.  All is not lost.  Oh yea, I forgot to mention...The King dumped me.

You don't know who your real friends are...until you need them.

That's him.  Just a playboy I'm thinking now.

I'm sorry that things didn't work out although by the sounds of it, you made a lucky escape. There are a couple of good men out there, I know there must be!!

Glad you have friends to bitch about him to. It really helps!

I agree wholeheartedly with Menopausal New Mom. You dodged a bullet my friend.

I love what you said at the end of your post.

So true.

There are always more fish in the sea. A person can either choose to be used or love the person in the mirror enough to walk away.

I have a feeling that we haven't heard the last of The King.

And I love your mother's tenacity! Only an Irish broad would mail pictures of her daughter to a movie star!

You know... if they'd have been nude pictures, we'd be calling you Mrs. Grant right about now... :P

Did he leave for another woman? If he did, he's an idiot and you wouldn't want to date an idiot. You are a hottie and a half! Meow!! No I'm not a lesbian.

I love your stories about your mom.

I agree with Joanie M. We definitely haven't heard the last of him. That said, high drama may not be what you want or need in love. I want what Hugh is singing about.

Somehow I don't think you have heard the last of the King either. If Memory serves me correctly you started dating him last spring and there have been many breakups and rekindling of the romance in the ensuing months. Sometimes I have been furious with things you have said in that "how in the world would he do that" but then you tell a touching story and I think he is just clueless. I am so sorry for your heartbreak over the holidays. Do you think he was nervous about not giving you the New Year's Eve of your dreams? Some men get really weird about things like that? Did you see it coming as in your views for the future did not mesh with what each other was thinking? I have always held out high hopes for the two of you. Something about him just seemed right for you. I could never put my finger on it but you just seemed like you fit together. Remember those photos with the fish painted on your faces. I loved those photos. Whatever it is that happened this time maybe after awhile you and the king will find your way back to each other.

If there is one thing I have learned in life it is that whatever you think should happen rarely does happen the way it happens in your head beforehand. Sometimes when we are most hurt it can be over a misunderstanding and then when we get the whole picture things make perfect sense. Whatever is going on you have lots of friends out here in cyberspace who wish you only the very best.

Loved your Christmas photo with your Aunt and cousins and your photo with the King.

Let yourself breathe and don't make any big decisions and relax and life may surprise you.

Happy New Year and all the best to you in 2010.

You are way too good for Hugh.
I guess the jury is out on the King by the comments, but surely the holiday break up is pretty lame, no?
Loved your Christmas blog with your family, such a lovely day.
Happy New Year; may we both find someone decent in 2010!

I've never seen Charmaine happier than when she's with the King. Her fear of her strong feelings leads her to pull back to protect herself. I don't want her to keep retreating. The King is good for her

WHAT? i leave the blogosphere for 2 weeks and there is a meltdown? Are you still at Briana's? NO RETREAT - he can't dump you unless you LET him! Remember, Hugh Grant LOST OUT on you!!

Sharon said...

If Briana is right, and the King is good for you and he didn't leave for another woman, then do what's good for you. We don't own you. We just want you to be happy.

Plus, dating sucks. Dating is just a way to find someone to love who loves you back.

Seriously though, send nerd men my way.
